The guard changing ceremony at Deoksu Palace, which takes place everyday except for Mondays, is a very good representation of the changing of the guard during the Chosun Dynasty, and a good touristic attraction for visitors.

The ceremony takes place everyday except for Mondays and extremely cold or hot days, at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 3:30 p.m., in front of the Deoksu Palace (덕수궁, deoksugung in Korean).

You can easily find 덕수궁 by using the subway. Go to 시청 (sicheong / City Hall) station on line number 1 or 2, and get out of exit number 2 or 3 from line number 1 and exit number 12 from line number 2, and you will see the Palace right next to the subway station.

  • Japan and China should be thankful to Korea because Korea used to be a buffer zone for both countries!!

and one more fact is that Korea never invaded those 2 countries except for a small Japanese pirate defeats.

  • @dzhao888 wrong. in the early second millenia korea controlled all of manchuria as well as the penisula. later, it became a vassal state to china and china should be thankful. the chinese used korea as a buffer zone against japan for 1000s of years before the 1930s when the bulk of chinas population centers finally fell to japan during the war.

  • Are these real soldiers or are they actors?

  • 경복궁 갔을 때, 꼭 한 번 보고 싶었는데. 아쉽게도 시간이 안되어서 못보고간ㅋㅋ
