  • Hi Micheal,

thank you for the many delighting hints.

Here is a point I struggle with: How can I open or close both hips standing in bowstand by shifting weight?

If I do, one hip closes (frontleg) while the otherone opens (backleg). Invers the other way. Please help me to understand your explanation. Thanks, Tamara.

  • Tamara As you sit back and gather energy, the chi screws up both legs, but in opposite directions, into the center. Then as you move forward, the energy screws out and downward in each leg to release. As you look into each leg, the energy either screws up into the center or down from the center into the feet. To gather, the forward foot energy runs clockwise up and counterclockwise down, while, at the same time, the rear foot gathers counterclockwise and releases clockwise.

    Michael

  • Hello Micheal, I love this 34 movement form!! I originaly learned the basic movements of your long form through your Ultimate Referance Series. ( still refer to it regurly). However, as I am busy with my other art, I found it too much to work with and get any good at. At least for now. This short form though, is to me, very enjoyable and I just dont seem to tire of it. I have been doing it daily for a while as well as some 7 stars chi kung as a warm up. Hope to get up your way soon.

  • So you're talking about an more energetic than anatomic opening in the hip (here I would have to screw the torso). I'll think about.

    Thanks for the quick answer.

    Tamara
