I believe he's using a volume pedal on his electric guitar and it's set to a simple clean tone with light phaser.
It's majestic on how resourceful he is, and still able to make something so beautiful.

@Kathedral5 Do you know, you can do it with the volume control too, It gives it another feeling, maybe he's using It..

This sucks without everyone else's parts.

@chinmaymenon Listen to their whole catalogue. Don't listen to separate songs. Listen to full albums because PT's albums have to be listened from A to Z because it's a whole with a concept and it's a very nice journey! And buy their albums if you like them! :) Cheers!

I would personally check out The Incident, listen to the whole record. It pretty much gives you a complete overview of what they are all about and then go backwards from there.

It really depends on what you want to hear. If you want something with more a "pop" edge go for Stupid Dream or Lightbulb Sun. Anything after that is heavier, and anything before that is much more psychadelic/proggy. Personally, I think In Absentia is their best album, so I recommend that. They are a band where you need to listen to whole albums, not just single songs.
