does it work with wii remote plus

Do these have to be connected by USB to the Wii or can it work with a USB adapter to a wall socket? I've heard that it doesn't charge unless the Wii is turned on, so it would be more convenient to have it plugged to a wall socket instead.

For anyone that doesn't know, the original (store bought) dual docking station should come with 2 separate plastic pieces which are used for charging the batteries WITHOUT the wiimote (it holds them in place as the wiimote would)

Do you need to charge the batteires with the WiiMote or you can also plug the battery in the charging station without the Wiimote?

You don't have to leave the wii on, the charge still goes through as long as its plug into the wall. Since there are only 2 usb ports on the wii I simply plug the charger into a usb hub on my computer.

the only bad thing i can say about this, u would have to leave your wii turned on all night just to charge the wiimote.
