The Painting & Drawing Channel is dedicated to the art of learning to paint... with a host of your favourite artists. Today, renowned artist Geoff Kersey sets the scene and explains step-by-step how to simplify a building, without overworking the details. Using an array of colours, an extra large oval wash brush and four round brushes, Geoff shows you how to create a 3-D effect with the use of shadow and how to create texture whilst producing some very interesting results. With a friendly, easy approach he aims to give you the confidence to paint architecture... the results are quite spectacular!

  • Are you waiting to dry the paper between the steps?

  • @GuentherOettinger Yes, Geoff leaves each step to dry before carrying on with the next...

  • Part three doesn't work....

  • Seems to be working fine for me...

  • Geoff, Enjoying your excellent demonstration, but can't get part 3 to run. Thanks.

  • Part Three should now work fine...

    Thanks for watching!

  • Painting looks more deeper and cool than the actual object....Wow he revealed all the secrets of a painter which most of them are reluctant to do so...

  • I love Geoff and respect his talent and thank the Painting and Drawing Channel for putting these up for us...but, at about 3:32 the Gold Star goes to anyone who can figure out the words he says just before "...use a bit of kitchen roll..." That is classic.

  • wow ur so good.

  • its accidental, but it falls on paper so intentional....

  • I must first say that Geoff Kersey is one of my favorites! He's amazing! But I have a question to this channel... I have a problem with mixing colours for haircolours. Especially blondes, there is so many shades of blonde. Please, can you or someone help me? Best Regards, Karolina S.

  • That's a very good painting, I like your style.
