@intercityrailpal This particular RDC is not the same as an original RDC. This one has been extensively upgraded and modified with new powertrains, electronics, etc. This RDC is a demo unit...which IRSI uses as a shop switcher from time to time.

What I want to know is. Is the former Lehigh Valley RDC they were parting out still up there?

They are direct drive diesels. The drive shaft was not intended for this use. This is a great way to break the drive shaft on the RDC. Budd said "not to do this". NH and M&STL violated this rule. But they didn't pull the weight of a freight engine!
