The application with instructions can be downloaded from http://sites.google.com/site/ghoelzl/nxtcontrol
This is my first application for the G1. It uses the pitch/roll sensor to determine the attitude of the phone. Via WLAN every 100ms the current information is sent to a Java application running on a PC. After calculating the speeds for the left and the right motor the application sends the information forward to the Mindstorm NXT robot via Bluetooth.
There is a new version at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6IMh81geyA where you can directly control the robot via Bluetooth. Code and instructions can be found at http://sites.google.com/site/ghoelzl/nxtcontrolv2

  • @vicmyc I used leJOS NXJ on the NXT robot

  • nice stuff! should it be possible to control the nxt directly by bluetooth?

  • It should be possible with the new Android SDK 2.1. When the version will be officially available for the G1 I will work on it.

  • @amplivibe Now I adapted the application to Android 2.1, the NXT can be controlled directly via Bluetooth, see description of the video.
