Civil War Re-Enactment at Latta Plantation

A staging of a civil war battle on historic Latta Plantation in Charlotte, NC. It was +90 degrees and these poor people (likely volunteers) were wearing period wool costumes. Besides all the sweating I did, it was fun. But hot. Good gravy it was hot. The battle starts at about the 3:50 mark :D LattaPlantation.org

Among the Union forces at this event was the 21st Massachusetts (aka 49th NC Troops when we're Confederate), the group my Father and I are with! We were there for Saturday's battle, which was incredible! The Sunday battle looked great, but that was nothing compared to Saturday!

Wish we could have made it Saturday as well. Looking forward to the Revolutionary War re-enactment in September :)

Well if we're going for authenticity, I would have been burned as a witch because I can do math, and I'm pretty sure I saw a black guy who appeared to be free and happy----we all know that can't be accurate.
