I dont care how much they paid him, Bogner would NOT lend his name to this amp if he didnt belive in it and love the sound himself!! You guys with your "sounds digital, sounds processed sounds fake" are full of it ! In a blind test I bet you couldnt tell the difference, and would go one further and say 99% of the time you'd pick THIS amp as sounding best!!

I never liked Line 6 because of my recollection of the Spider 3. After playing the Spider Valve because I was bored at Guitar Center one day, I have to say, this is by far the best amp for the price I ever played! I played the stack and the 212, and the 212 sounded a little harsher, but a quick adjustment of EQ and the thing SANG! The Crunch Channel on blue is Marshall Plexi, so great Van Halen tone, and the Metal Channel on Orange is Mesa, so that gave me a nice Metallica gain. BUY IT! :D

whatever, line 6 still sucks.

@paskualu From the manual: Press and hold Tap as you turn the Reverb knob up past twelve o'clock, and you turn on a built-in Noise Gate, which helps to cut down on hiss and noise. When you do this, the Channel D LED comes on to indicate that the Gate is on.

It has a gate and a noise reduction. It also has an editor, a free upgrade...but you need to get either the $99 or $199 floor board. I pay more than that for most pedals, so no biggy. the 1.5 firmware adds a bunch more effects and tweaks the amp models. For a grab and go rig, this thing rocks. Is it my Carol-ann OD-50? Of course not, but what it is...one head, one board, and a couple cables. Simplicity and diversity in one package.

I have this amp (Spider Valve 212) and i do not see any noise gate button that would activate o desactivate anything; please tell me if there is any trick to "remove" the "buzz" when use distorted sounds on "low notes" (i nearly dont speak english) please answer thank you
I have a hd150 spider 3 and am thinking about the line 6 mkii head is it worth it or can i just run some sort of tube warmer pedal/preamp in my spider to achieve this
DECIFERTHIS09 3 months ago
@DECIFERTHIS09 you can run a tube pre into your Spider if you'd like. It might not sound exactly the same as the valve amp but it will warm your tone up a bit.

@line6movies whats a good pre I should choose i was thinking to get a art but I don't know if thats what want but I have 100 or less what would be your choice of warmer?

@DECIFERTHIS09 a lot of Spider Valve owners swear by the Spider Valve Pre made by Strymon. It's been discontinued but you may be able to find one on eBay or you could even ask around in the SV forums on our website.

Question for you Line 6 guys if you will. I'm thinking about purchasing this to keep up with the other guitarist in my metal band who plays a Peavey 6505 through a Mesa 4x12. Will the Spider Valve 212 combo hold it's own and will it be enough to keep up with a drummer and the other guitarist volume and keep good tone and low end at such a volume?

@Krauser1226 Yes definitely. It's very loud. I'd just suggest you elevate it a bit during rehearsal.
