@gorgotno I have read his book numerous times and he stopped said he stopped doing standup and went to improv because he wasn't good at standup. He then transitioned from improv to radio. So he does NOT have an extensive stand up background, but he has done it. He DOES have an extensive improv background.

I honestly wish they would just leave Drew be the captain like he had to be for a few months after Stryker abandoned ship and let Anderson be the sidekick. The whole reason there ever was an Adam or any other "host" was because they wanted a personality to interview guests and give another perspective to callers. Well Drew has graduated from the sitting doctor and is plenty capable of manning the show himself. Anderson pipes in all the time anyways, so it's a perfect fit.

@LinkinParkLivEshow Adam is not a 'Stand Up' comedian. As Adam said stand up guys are comedy warehouses where they script their routines, Adam is a comedy Factory where he comes up with his 99% hilarious rants on the spot and he uses the situation to come up with his spiel. BIG difference. Adam Carolla is my favorite TV personality he puts John Stewart/ Colbert the 'comedians' who are actually Progressive political pundits to shame. Long Live Adam Carolla :-)

@ninejayriot if you read his book he has an extensive history doing stand up and improv classes at the groundlings.

drew did the show for like 12 years before adam was even on it and it was good, its still good but compared to when adam was on its just not the same adam and drew doing loveline was probably the best talk radio of all time

@darth108209 Stryker was too tame for loveline, it was really just a scheme to raise ratings. They wanted to recreate the comic relief role that Adam fulfilled. However, since Adam won't cohost the show, they took another radio host, who happened to be funny.

I listened to loveline for years growing up in CA but coulden't stand even 5 minutes without Adam.
