Buckhorn State Park was designated a park in 1971. The park and two adjacent state wildlife areas cover 5,900 acres on a peninsula in the Castle Rock Flowage of the Wisconsin River. The flowage that covers 13,955 acres is the 5th largest body of water in the state. Fishing and all sorts of water sports dominate the activities. You can access the 45 campsites by land or water. just about the only place that still encourages secluded camping.. not to mention right along a nice, big lake with sandy shorelines.

This place is horrible. I have camped at many state parks in and out of Wisconsin and Buckhorn is by far the worst.
