The Obama administration has quietly approved one of six major mountaintop removal permits that were said to be undergoing close scrutiny by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Without announcing the move publicly, the EPA gave the nod for the federal Army Corps of Engineers to issue a Clean Water Act permit for CONSOL Energy Inc.'s Peg Fork Surface Mine in Mingo County, West Virginia.

  • I am so disappointed of Obama. Way to go, yea, 60% of Americans are against mountain top removal vs the 37%.

Love how you talk about "sustainability", but won't ban mountain top removal.

Renewables are part of the equation to protect the environment, but so is protecting the wilderness and mountains from being BLOWN UP for minerals and coal...

want to mine? want minerals, rare earths, coal? you need to go underground. that's the way it should be.

  • @1099951801 yeah! Fuck the environment!

  • I cant believe Obama would do this being

so close to radical tree huggers and enviro-freaks. But "way to go" Obama,

you finally did something that's worth while. I may vote for you next go around if you'll stay on this track. Seriously!
