July 12, 2001, for some reason, Atlantis was maybe temporaily grounded because for Atlantis. OV-104 (Atlantis) didn't need to do any other spaceflights, but rather than Endeavour and Discovery. And yep, that was before the World Trade Center destroyed. And possibly the last launch for everyone to see closer, because after September 11. NASA decide not to sell tickets.
Ha, I remember being 9 years old and getting up at 4:30 in the morning to watch this launch live. Brings back great memories. This is by far the best quality internet video I've seen of this launch.
