So he told you that you're the dream that he's been searching for
And he told you that he'd never met anyone like you before
And I can hear him telling you your lips taste just like sherry wine
But did he tell you that he's known as Johnny One Time

Did he tell you that your heart would soon become
Another trinket on his bracelets of broken hearts
Did he tell you that the morning sun will find you
Patching up your shattered pride and searching for the missing parts
Did he tell you that the special love you're saving
Will disappear in flames of shame like mine
Did he tell you that he's known as Johnny One Time

So he told you that he'd never lead your heart astray
And he told you that he'd love you forever and a day
And I can hear him telling you that he's the shy and bashful kind
But did he tell you that he's known as Johnny one time

Did he tell you that your heart will soon become
Another trinket on his bracelets of broken hearts
And did he tell you that the morning sun will find you
Patching up your shattered pride and searching for the missing parts
Did he tell you that the special love you're saving
Will disappear in flames of shame like mine
Did he tell you that he's known as Johnny One Time.

Oh, did he tell you that your heart will soon become
Another trinket on his bracelets of broken hearts
And did he tell you that the morning sun will find you
Patching up your shattered pride and searching for the missing parts
Did he tell you that the special love you're saving
Will disappear in flames of shame like mine
Did he tell you that he's known as Johnny One Time.

Somewhere between the greed for money and sound judgment, the legends of country music were tossed aside for the outlandish sound they call country music today. Murder on Music Row is a greater threat to the demise of America then the ruthless gangs who pollute the streets with heinous violence. RJB Nashville, Tennessee.

  • Fantastic singer a beautiful lady with an outstanding voice which has been a credit to her for years brilliant

  • I am a million away from Brenda musically, but this is a simply great little song with one of the great pop voice.

    Thanks

  • A sensational country-rock hit by the superb Brenda Lee. "Little Miss Dynamite" turned out some of the sassiest rock 'n roll numbers and heart-wrenching ballads of the 50s and 60s. From a very early age her lyrical interpretations and vocal stylings were almost preternaturally exquisite. An immensely talented singer, Brenda Lee has amassed a fantastic catalog of recordings of which this one is a gem.

  • @flashbell I wish my sister had that choice, she loved all the 60#s god for give her who killed her xx

  • Great song. Reminds me of my early childhood.

  • Wonderful. Thanks for making it. I'm listening to the repetition. And so beautiful that it touches.

  • brilliant especially when you think about hw long it is since she first recorded it fantastic

  • This is Brenda's re-recording of her 1969 hit. This version was recorded in 1996 for an album ob her own label which was produced by her long time producer Owen Bradley and several of the musicians found on many of her early recordings. This is the version sold at her concerts and the whole album was excellent especially considering the amount of time between these and the original recordings.

  • this is one of my favorite songs by Brenda Lee..i really appreciate that u upload this...oh how i love her, once i play this it never ceases me to replay again...ty so much..Brenda & flashbell
