Americans from across the country gathered by the thousands under tight security at the National Mall for the annual Fourth of July fireworks display, taking part in a holiday celebration that also included a parade and other events citywide. The "Capital Fourth" concert, broadcast live on PBS, provided musical entertainment. The fireworks over the National Mall followed the concert, with the US Capitol, the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial as a backdrop.

@sv3rige They are celebrating their Declaration of Independence in 1776. They celebrate it once a year. Shame on everyone who comes on here to drag them through the mud over other issues that they disagree with.
