Khmer Lesson: How does God want us (as believers) to remember the death and resurrection of Jesus? What is the Lord's Supper, communion, and Passover have in common? Jesus died on Passover, which is the Jewish celebration remembering the day they put the blood of the lamb on the door post, and God promised them that, "When I see the blood, I will passover you so the plague will not destroy you." Jesus died on Passover to set us free from sin. Israel was set free from Egypt on Passover, and Jesus died to set us free from bondage to sin. All who trust him are forgiven of their sins and given new freedom to worship God without the bondage of past sins having to hinder them. Jesus wants us to remember His death by taking of the unleaavened bread representing His body.
