Henry a dangerous cassowary

The Cassowary is large flightless bird weighing up to 80kgs and standing up to 2 Metres tall. The cassowary is a specialist fruit eater and is known to disperse several hundred species of rainforest trees and vines seeds by eating fruit. We visited the Johnstone River Crocodile Park on Wednesday 28th of Jan 2009. The Crocodile Park is located south of Cairns, at Innisfail, Northeast Queensland Australia. The Johnstone River Crocodile Park is in the heart of the wet tropics which has the highest population of cassowaries remaining in Australia.

Yes that's possible, but they will remain pretty territorial and you would have to clip it's nails and be pretty carefull concerning the headbutts, but in general they are pretty easy to tame. This is forbidden though, since the species is endangered.

We've got to preserve these birds, they're too unique for us to cause their extinction. Also, I wish that zookeeper would NOT stick his finger through the fence, he's just asking for trouble doing that.

That bird is a known killer of humans- if it kicks you- and it will if given a chance, it has a claw like a velociraptor...and it can spill your intestines with one swift move. You might not be afraid of them, but I guarantee you, one will f#ck you up if you think you can waltz up to it and stick your tongue out.
