Just seen David as Phantom last week and he was absolutely brilliant!! Looks like there's 2 brilliant Phantom's in town now that Ramin's in Love Never Dies up the road :-)

anyone seem him playing phantom yet? I'm going seeing it on Monday night. Last time I saw it, phantom was ramin karimloo and he was excellent.

I just saw David portray Judas in JCS in Dublin. He was superb. Not just his voice, but he is a great actor. So much passion and expression, a truly moving experience to see him up there with the brilliant Steve Balsamo who was JC.
They sing so well together. Good luck to David in Phantom. he is a great live performer. B x

well hes no John Owen-Jones but he's really good i mean yea colms the original but there have been valjeans that dominate him a.k.a John Owen-Jones (but thats just me its a opinion people no need to bash it)

I don't really care to much for his voice. I have to see him live to judge his performance. He may be a great actor.

I saw him in December, he was absolutely fantastic. I've seen the show 4 times, (once with Drew), and he was by far the best that I have seen on stage. He was the epitome of Jean Valjean.
He started in London in November :)

I saw David Shannon as Valjean recently and this recording does him no justice whatsoever. He's brilliant. Every bit as good as Colm Wilkinson, magnificent voice, and not a duff note all night.
