Hello again, this was the FCPAP (First Coast Plein Air Painters) May "Paintout" at the beautiful Lions Club Park - May 4, 2008 north Jacksonville, Florida. The port is across the river, and the city is off in the backsground. Beautiful day, quite a few artists, all had a great time. The first part of this video features other FCPAP artists painting that day, the scond part is my time-lapse painting, although the timer didn't time-lapse the part that I was using a papertowel to blot in the backgroud (Bob Ross technique...but in colors).

This is my first video with my updated editing software, so it's a bit crude as I grope my way around in editing with it. It has some powerful new features, but I must learn how to locate and use these features first.

The music is SKY'S BEYOND by Nightingale from the Higher Octave collection: "Music from around the World for around the Clock" - cd2-track 10.

  • Nature best art work ever !

  • Thank you.. it's fun to paint with great people like FCPAP. Thanks for watching!

  • very nice, Gary, but I was wondering for a moment if you were going to use a brush at all! You had most of that canvas covered without one brush stroke!

    Cool painting, too.

    But.... I am curious....

What was the red box Dorothy was waving at you?

  • Hi... Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. This one was a full color experiment with the papertowel technique used in the Bob Ross demos earlier this year. The "red" box is actually David's red ballcap as he was walking up behind her while I was shooting her segment, also...

MY BAD, her name is actually "Donna"... (sorry Donna). Again thanks for commenting!! Stay Creative!!!

  • I am so impressed with your skill! You bring amazing life and color to every work and make it look so effortless. I am a beginner and have learned so much by watching you. I'd love to take a class from you. Thank you for taking the time to post your videos so we can all watch you work.

  • Thanks for the wonderful comment. It's ggod to hear that my videos have helped you, THAT is my purpose in putting them on YouTube. They are not descriptive, but I think you can get an idea of my approach to painting, drawing, etc., also, it's fun to document our "paintouts" for the First Coast Plein Air Painters, as it shows what others are doing as well. THANKS FOR WATCH... STAY CREATIVE!!!
