The media shows harmful images of skinny women and muscle bound men...making teenagers or even adults feel like they are unattractive or feel they need to change how they look to be accepted by others.

These images of models and stuff in magazines and TV are false images usually airbrushed on programs and other things...these images are not real, and when they are 95% of the time the models got like that by severely unhealthy means.

The media and its untrue images of what is attractive or "perfect" in regards to looks is the main cause of cases of eating disorders along with other serious problems in teenagers and adults.

I'm planning to eventually do a follow up of this.

  • In the words of Foamy the Squirrel, "Fuck the beauty magazines with their skinny bitch cover models that look like chemo patients! Counting your bones in the mirror is NOT SEXY and SOME of us LIKE to eat!"

  • @DemonSlayerZero Amen to that.

  • Hercules? I thought the image guys had to compete against weren't models and body builders but dudes in the music and movie industry. I can't name a single male model or body builder that doesn't make me feel like shit the way Matt Damon, Jason Mraz, Michael Phelps or Johnny Depp would.

  • Well I met plenty of guys in High School and even now in College who spend most of their free time in the gym in order to attract a girl.

Also I met a guy who thought something was mentally and physically wrong with him because he wasn't attracted to and didn't get a boner from looking at the girl in the school with the biggest breasts.

  • it makes me sick seeing people tease other people just because theyre not perfect even people with special needs get teased and it makes me want to knock someone out seriously. >:(

  • @CUPCAKEMONSTER99 Fair point. But then, if "unhealthy" is beautiful, then we live in a sick world, right? Women shouldn't feel like they have to damage their bodies in order to be attractive.

  • @CUPCAKEMONSTER99 Irrespective of whether they "should not be", they do - don't even pretend that teens don't watch porn. And it's making young, impressionable teenagers judge themselves based on this.

  • I think this rant is important. However it may be worth pointing out that a lot of anorexic girls don't come from body dysmorphia, or a false sense of beauty. A lot of eating disorders come from anxiety disorders.

  • mshaly1 people do that to their bodies to raise their selfesteme they do it for them selves not for u so don't hate

  • @Glumlock wat r u talkin about " especially teens" teens should not be watching that kind of stuff
