I appreciate that our president has values and shows respect. He was not handed a pretty America when he began and should certainly not be blamed for all of the hardships that our poor choices have brought on us over the past decade. At least our present has helped us to believe in a better America and remember some of the values that have made our country what it is.

@Aracuru at FederalBudget(dot)com it has a chart titled "how congress spends your money". since it says "your money", i'm assuming they mean taxes. the legislative branch, etc. are in there. the Wikipedia article for U.S. federal taxes has a section that says "The federal government is now financed by a mix of personal, corporate income taxes, payroll taxes, borrowing, and other taxes." with bonds you're talking only about the 'borrowing' part.

@Aracuru yea, the FED occured to me after i posted, so i do feel like a dumbass. however, at federalbudget(dot)com there is a graph that unless i am misreading says our money is spent on things besides taxes
