This is an excerpt from Einaudi's beautiful piece, Ancora, that I used to show off my new Zoom Q3. I'm still experimenting with the mic settings and Zoom placement. The lighting is low; blame the gloomy Kentucky weather and lack of a good light in my living room. I don't think this clip is doing justice to the video quality of the Q3 that I get in other contexts. However, you can look at my earlier videos if you want to see how it compares to the video of the Flip.

  • Hi, I just bought a Q3. What sound quality settings do you set it to, and also what is your mic gain?

  • @RememberShinobi87 I record it in .wav format, 44.1 kHz, 16 bit, with the "auto" gain setting. Since the time I made this recording, I also discovered an optional setting in the menu to set the "lo cut" to on, which gets rid of some of the slight hiss. Hope this helps, and enjoy your new Zoom!

  • Lovely playing! Can I ask how long the batteries last with the Zoom Q3? I am seriously considering purchasing one but am concerned about battery life.

    Sing On!

  • @cpguerra Dang, I just noticed your question, cpguerra. It's probably way to late to help you, but I only get about 1.5 to 2 hours of battery life. In fact, I gave up and ordered the optional DC adaptor, which was WELL worth it!
