ALTERNATE ENDING TO PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: CURSE OF THE BLACK PEARL.
Commodore Norrington is a good and honourable man. A man who knows clearly the black and white. When Captain Jack Sparrow came along, he disrupted the peace and order of Port Royale, and made Norrington see the grey areas between the lines of the law.
Though they might consider themselves tentative friends, Norrington must do his duty, and Sparrow must be hanged for his crimes.
Norrington reminisces on their short friendship, and is torn between his duty to the Crown, and his friend.

Imagine if they had Jack get hanged in a alternate ending on the DVD, and we see him struggling on the end of a rope and Elizabeth runs off crying and her father orders the hangman to pull on jacks legs to speeden the strangulation so he dies quicker.

Hangings were always about choking to death slowly on the rope. It wasnt until the 1960's when they developed the 'snap the neck' hanging to lessen the condemned's suffering.

Hanging is a very frightening way to die.
