I was wondering, how important is it for someone to own a MIDI controller if they are using Ableton? I'm just wanting to learn how to use Ableton casually, for fun. If a MIDI controller is necessary or highly recommended, what would you recommend as a good starter?

@jhhboyle I personally don't use a MIDI controller in the studio. I only use one when I play live. So no, it's not compulsory.

I actually subscribed to Mr Bills tunes to check out his tutorial videos. I didnt even know how to use Ableton live properly before. These are the best videos on Ableton I have ever seen. I cannot explain how much his videos have changed and helped my music production. I have been using ableton for maybe 6 weeks now and thanks to these videos, I am putting the filthiest shit together (and making it sound professional). Mr Bill knows his shit. His tutorials have literally changed my life.
