If I could I would change the world
But you know my visions they're absurd
And all my great plans get blurred
By the softest touch, the gentlest word

[Chorus]
I've said it before and I'll say it again
I will not believe until it is mine
Until it's mine, all mine, yeah mine

If I knew all about this world
Do you think I'd stay here that's absurd
I'd be the brightest star you heard
We'd be the softest lace on earth

[Chorus]

  • I like the Smiths, but I love the felt infinitely more. It shows you how stupid the world is that this band never became as big as Smiths or The Cure.

  • Maurice Deebank is/was a fantastic guitarist. I still can't even do a good of copying this.

  • @gerry6668 +1

  • absolutely beatiful--as good as it was when it first came out

  • Strongly disagree with those that say Lawrence cannot sing. I love his singing and his lyrics and cannot imagine another type of voice singing these songs. His voice is absolutely essential to the what makes the music so uniquely powerful and beautiful. This is Art at a very high level and that is the reason that it it not popular. I for one am glad he would never pass audition for American Idol.

  • Smiths is different from Felt in their musical missions! Both Johnny and Maurice are genius but Lawrence is better than Morrisey!

  • I think the reason Felt never got as big as the Smiths or the Cure is because they take a little time to grow on you; there's not much immediate captivation of the simple mind with them; no easy hooks or flashy gimmicks.

  • Mr. Robert Smith listened to Felt a lot. And never felt any shame for ripping them off just a little bit sometimes for his songs. That's love, i might say

  • Una genialitat de Deebank i Lawrence.

  • Wonderful Tom Verlaine/Lou Reed/John Denver hybrid of a song--the first Felt song I ever heard...totally blew me away with its' beauty

  • These were true musicians.

  • @afansi

0:26 to 0:36 sounds like out of this world with the cure!
