Here's a simple rollover tutorial, featuring my dog Cassie (a 3.5 year old Shih Tzu X Lhasa Apso) and myself. Sorry for the audio fade in/out near the end -- I'm a novice at movie making and couldn't figure out an uncomplicated way to make the music loop seamlessly.

Song is from Okami's OST, "Oira's Theme".

Enjoy!

  • trying to teach my dog hes a jack russell but he keeps getting up :S

  • How is he with the 'down' and 'stay' commands? It might be better to teach those first so he doesn't get up all the time.

  • he lays down straight away and stays good i've got im on his side once before but he didnt like it so i dont think he will do it agen

  • Keep trying - Cassie didn't really like it at first either. It took me several attempts to get her okay with being on her side. Good luck!

  • hey, my dog does not lie down on his side but with his legs far apart . how do i get him to go on his sides?

  • All I can tell you is to practice. Get the treat next to his side but not so close to his face, so that he has to turn his head and reach (without getting up) to get the treat. Make sure it's something really yummy that he'll love -- cut up pieces of hot dogs or cheese seem to work. It takes a few (sometimes several) tries to get them on their sides, but it's worth the effort!

  • My dog won't do it he sucks!!!!!!

  • yay ill subscribe this video because my dog know how to roll over now YAY !!! :)))

  • Help my dog is half german shephard half black lab and she rolls on her back, but does not roll all the way! Then, she rolls the way she started and gets up! HELP!

  • @TheGoldendoodle98765 Well just work at it, because my Golden is always shaking now. Think he realized how happy I was that I finally taught him to do it, so now he does it constantly without me telling him to. I'm sitting on the couch, he comes up and sits in front of me, I pet him, and he keeps trying to shake. Tricks = treats, he knows this.

  • @corruptgunslinger my puppy did the same thing but picked up sit right away and doesnt want to lie down

  • I Love The Music On This Video lol

  • ha your freakin good my dog did it perfectly!

  • i can get my dog in the position, but when i make the roll over motion he gets up and turn around instead......

  • My 7 month Golden Retriever picked this up really fast. He pretty much did it the first session. Which is annoying because he doesn't Shake at all.
