West Somerset Railway - Autumn Steam Gala 2009 - Saturday 3rd October 2009

The West Somerset Railways Autumn Steam Gala 2009 was to be a Prelude Event too many GWR theme events for 2010 as its the year of the Great Western Railways 175th Anniversary.
The railway ran there 4 day Autumn gala from Thursday 1st to Sunday 4th October and it included the best GWR action you can see from Express locomotives to tank engines this gala truly showed the pride of the GWR.
The gala offered tons of GWR action from interesting double headers to non stop expresses, the gala had it all.

Minehead shed was also open to the public so a quick look round in there was in stall and my main interest there was 7828 Odney Manor she will be fantastic when she returns.

The full engine line up for the gala was

For this day I was joined with JBTEvans, theonlyadsrulz and GJDobbzy and the day was a mix of linesiding and riding.
For the day we tired a few new linesiding locations which were all excellent I shall be using them again in the future.

The Plan we did was -

1220 Washford Stogumber with 4953 Pitchford Hall
1313 Stogumber Watchet with 5029 Nunney Castle & 7802 Bradley Manor

It was a fantastic day and a fantastic gala as I enjoyed my manor and large prairie bash hehe, but also well done to the WSR again for doing another fab event for 2009 lets hope there future ones turn out fantastic aswell.
