I would totally consider this but the mechanism is so loud. It would freak the kids out and make the puppet seem too robotic and not realistic.

Like i said this is a prototype, the servos that i have in it now are cheap futaba servos, when i'm finished with the design i'll be using hi end "HiTech" Digital metal gear servos they're much much quiter, Plus when the scull is covered in fur you wont hear anything.

I'm really looking forward to getting one (especially since I've been musing over getting a Lenord-style one from you again) but I have a question regarding the animatronic eyes....

Do these require a second operator? Will there be a simplified version of the blink action available?

They don't require a second operator but it's alot easier with one, If you arn't useing his hands then one person can do it all, as for the blink action i'm not quite sure i know what you mean.

I think that's a great solution for more complex and sofisticated puppets. I wouldn't care about the sound because on puppet films sound is dubbed.
