What leaked radiation??
The sheer ignorance of people on the issue of nuclear safety never fails to astound me. The natural background radiation in Cornwall is more likely to give you cancer. Idiot.

Adrian, do you realise that protestors are a minority? You all think you are opening the eyes of the masses because no-one knows about these things. When in actual fact, the masses are not protesting because we agree with the goverment. You annoy more people than you recruit, simple. Luckily I live near aldermaston and I look forward to someone trying that in the road in front of my car, lets hope its you! P.S. The MODs budget has nothing to do with the AWEs budget.

we need nuclear weapons as a deterrent to stop other rogue states attacking us, like it or not nuclear weapons are here on this planet to stay. if we dont have a nuclear weapond what chance of defending our families from other countries, you protestors havent got the first idea, yes there a bad weapon and yes we all hope they wont be used but they are a good deterrent,

The money comes from the same place, us taxpayers. Why do you want to murder people? If you live near AWE you are in danger from the leaked radiation, your in a cancer cluster. Its mad to have such a dangerous place so near a large town like Reading, even for those who want weapons of mass destruction.

I think benjb90 needs to seek medical help.
Ferrarif, how will rogue states be deterred? If they are rogue they wont be stopped by a threat, but may be willing to talk if we treated them as an equal, not looked down on them from an elite nuclear club. Face it the cold war is over. And we don't have an independent weapon anyway, we need permission from the USA to launch.

Theres no need for rudeness. The weapons are from the cold war and no longer required. Paying for their replacements means we cant afford equipment to protect our soldiers like body armor and armored vehicles. Possessing nuclear weapons makes us vulnerable to terrorism and encourages other countries to join the 'big boys' club. As the UK government won't listen to reason the protestors are showing patriotism and courage to raise awareness of this issue.
