@shmuli9 the odd thing was they were more popular in north America then England
-
@Skinnyjoeymerlino When one of the lyrics is "living in the '80s," it won't be relevant again for 68 more years.
-
So it's obvious this song is about selling out to oil interests.
-
EC hit #28 in Billboard, 1-28-89. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!
-
I remember this song got a lot of airplay on MTV and WTBS's Night Tracks when it first came out but sadly fell into obscurity soon afterwards, IMO this song is better than "Wild, Wild West"
-
Despite the fact the Escape Club were from the UK, there were some US dollar bills shown, notably the $20 bill, instead of UK pound bills. Another interesting fact is that in another Escape Club video ("Wild Wild West"), US flags were shown instead of UK flags.

totally 80s. Colors, haircuts, special effects, the whole packet.
-
@humboldtus Interesting. They had three or four big hits in the US and Canada...
-
@shmuli9 None of their music was a hit in the UK. They missed out.
-
@DaveWollenberg No, it didn't chart in the UK. I was surprised that it omnly went to #28 in the US - it seemed like it was a much bigger hit...
Escape club really reminds me alot of INXS. Should have been had much bigger impact on 80's/90's music.
