Emmylou Harris performs a version of "Hobo's Lullaby" with Carl Jackson and Angel Band. There is no video so I have added some of Emmylou from 2009, please click like and comment in the respond box, thanks Ally.
I used to sing this to my unborn baby when I was pregnant. She still liked it when she was born ! I think it's written by Arlo Guthrie or was it Woody ? I like Arlo's version better.
This song evokes images of dislocated men riding in boxcars during the Depression trying to survive or find themselves. Jimmy Rogers, the Singing Brakeman, wrote and sung a lot of songs like this. Back then, hobos were not looked upon with much favor. They were the original "Work For Food" guys, Many people who lived by railroad tracks got small chores down simply by giving them a sandwich.
Ik denk, de beste periode van Emmylou, de tijd met de Angel Band; Grandioos; Michiel;
