@pretzel1253 You get better axle articulation with a solid axle. The whole axle moves up and down, you get more drop.

why do most climbing and 4x4 vehicles have solid axles? wouldnt it be better to use a-arms because independent suspension and more ground clearance in the middle where you can get caught on rocks with solid axles?

The videos never do this race justice. This is the one race I never miss every year. The best part of the whole thing though is the week leading up to the race. Watching people attempt the course in their personal vehicles is even better than the race.

@ConsumerOfNothing I guess you didn't read the title of the video ... King of the Hammers RACE HIGHLIGHTS, not "driver interviews". Since we did that for about 20 hours during KOH week we figured we'd post some action.

@ConsumerOfNothing Motorsports are about racing, not listening to the drivers yammer. Go to a real race sometime and see how much time on the announcer's mic the drivers get. If you don't like the onboard audio, seems to me you must either have a crappy audio system on your 'puter, or no love of vehicles. Perhaps you would be happier with one of those "reality" shows where it is about the drama instead of the action.
