I don't have a TV. I have cable service only for the internet--no cable TV service. I speak a little bit about what it's like living without a TV. I know this is not for everyone! I did this video last weekend--it's actually Weds 6/29 today. I can't wait for the weekend!! I hope you are having a great week. Thanks so much for watching!

  • Who needs a television when you have Netflix? My Macbook Pro laptop is enough for me.

  • @capitalistsamurai I agree! Thanks for watching!

  • I was forced to give up cable tv and Netflix in late 2009 to save money. I didn't think I'd be able to manage. The first couple of days were rough, esp. since I liked having the TV on as "company" in the background. But then I started exploring other options, like Hulu, so that helped. Gradually I discovered I didn't miss having the TV on all the time. So refreshing! And although I'm not up on the newest movies, I do rent from a Blockbuster kiosk (w/ a coupon) from time to time.

  • @AzeriZ1 I use Hulu too if I really want to watch something. It was the same for me. Thanks for sharing your experience! : )

  • I still have tv's, but I cute cable about the same time as this video. I love it & don't miss it at all. We watch Netflix & Hulu & that's all we need.

  • @LLauranzonIII I agree! Thanks for watching. : )

  • I haven't had my TV one since the switch to digital & I didn't receive the 1 over the air station I expected to get. I haven't had cable since 2003 when move from town back to my rural residence, but I basically traded cable for a wireless internet connect because dial up is so poor for me. I do plan on putting up a outdoor TV antenna, that should get CBS, PBS for sure, maybe ABC & fox as well.

Food stores a is not hoarding, but preparedness, preparedness is compatible with minimalism.

  • it would be a lot less clutter if you get a kindle or nook instead of actual books

  • Great! The minute I get to a computer I'll visit your Blog:) Can't wait!

  • @SerendipityZen Thanks so much for your kind comment! I do have a blog. I can't post the url here but it is there in my profile information. I am also writing a book about my experience which I hope to be out by March 2012.

    Thanks again!
