People who haven't tried working on a film can't relate. It's uncomparable to the other art forms. The shooting itself... It takes such a toll on you.
IMO, the most underrated asset on the film crew is the 1 AD. It takes a real motherfucker to be a good 1 AD, since it's the assistant director who does must of the shit. It's the AD who takes the bullet for the director. The directors pain purpose has to be to control the actors and get good performances out of them. Poor fucking ADs:D

This film shows that making movies is really challenging and alot of filmmakers such as myself, go through a lot of hell trying to get a fucking movie done.

@Dgamer21 Sometimes feels like a complete nightmare just to get it to the point where you're shooting the thing. Can seriously make you lose the will to do anything sometimes

Frankly, I'm amazed that in the entire history of movie-making, there hasn't been a single reported incident of a director murdering any of his cast or crew. (Although Werner Herzog did come close with Klaus Kinski.)

My money is on David O. Russell being the 1st. You should check the clip of him losing his mind on the set of I heart huckabees.

@TerryCraig23 Forgot all about that. David O Russell was on my mind when I made that comment as I had just watched him lose his cool with someone on set and thought he was out of his mind. But yeah that would be a better example
