You go with a guide who takes you along various paths up the glacier. There is a 1/2 day 3/4 day and full day hike (this video was on the 3/4 day).
The guides carve the steps out onto the glacier every morning as it moves about 2 metres per day hence there is a lot of change in the glacier and the paths you take. Its rarely the same day to day.

I am watching without sound. Looks great though. Did oyu do this with a guide or can you just go tramping through?

It was a really good day out. We spent a good 3-4hours on the ice. Absolutely beautiful.
A little scary in places as we were walking around and stepping over fissures just like on 50 seconds when I slipped focusing on the camera too much.
