The people working for this rail line have fabulous jobs! I'm envious and can only wish I could.

@TagsNOLA What imply you! That by extension I'm a relic from the by-gone days? Look hear. We've not properly met. The nerve of some people! On a serious, though, it was a glorious age. And you know, there were so many, some all Pullman coaches. And then God created Amtrak! Need I say more?

@ccaammiiittoo1 Yes there was a "guilded age" of trains in America. But since the airlines supplanted rail rfor inter-city travel, those trains are relics of a by-gone era.

@TagsNOLA You must be quite young. Throughout the 20's through the 40's, The Twentiety Century Ldt. held sway as the Queen of the Railroads. Luxury par excellence! The Santa Fe/Superchief came later and provided the same type luxury. In fact, those Hollywood stars travelling aboard the SuperChief from Chicago to Los Angeles could find their luster as stars tarnished by forgetting to detrain not in downtown Los Angeles but Pasadena, my deah!

@ccaammiiittoo1 ..That is not quite true, Orient Express does have showers, but not in individual compartments:

Looks lovely. I realise this is probably a personal choice, but for me I'd like to see steam locos in stead of electric engines - it just ads to the romantic atmosphere of the experience.
