You can print from your computer with a black-and-white laser printer and transfer the image to copper for etching. Printmakers etch this way sometimes to get lettering, numbers, and photo images-or to make a variation of a painting or drawing using printmaking. In this 10-minute video, Bill Ritchie prints an etching made this way, and at the end gives a 90-second lesson silitransfer etching. It's called that name because he uses silicon-coated paper.
