  • 6.)...I think its because I recorded it too loud and its distorted. One last thing is if you have a keyboard with miniture keys give it to a charity shop and buy one with full size keys. Only ever play on full size keys if you use a keyboard. Thanks. Enjoy learning this sonata movement written by the finest composer who ever lived. Jamie :)

  • 5.)...I was so tired. Be patient and determined with it. I only learnt this because I like listening to it so much and I thought if I learnt it I could hear it 'on demand' I have a very good pdf sheet music for it and a flash (FLV) video of it being played correctly and very very slowly. I'm happy to email them to anyone. I recorded it again 3 months after this (the link is in top right) and although its much better technically and the tempo is smoother its not been very popular and...

  • 4.)..as long as you use the correct fingers from the start. Thats an essential good habit and why you should have sheet

music with finger notations. Study the alberti base technique and scales. Listen to it after practice before you go to sleep

and practice again in the mornings. Even ten minutes will make a big difference. The key is learn it slowly to start with. It

won't happen overnight. I spent every day for 6 months learning it often playing with my head almost in my lap....

  • 3.) Start from the beginning but when you get to parts you find very hard and seem to have hit a brick wall skip it and learn another section. Then it will come together like building blocks. The whole piece is basically a sequence of repeated

phrases. To play the whole movement takes a lot of hand dexterity even more so on a piano so you need to practice and

excercise a lot. If you have a weak left hand like me concentrate on that. The right hand parts should not be too much of a problem..

  • 2.)..process easier. Write out the notes for the treble and bass clefs and stick them on the wall. carry it aroud on a little

card. When doodling instead of drawing pictures write out the notes of the clefs on manuscript paper. This will really hammer it home and help you learn all pieces. Get a youtube version of it being played slowly and start from there. You can then watch it and listen to it being played and have the score for reference. That way you have an audio and visual reference...

  • 1.) Hi and thanks for the views and comments. I spent a long time learning this and it makes it worthwhile. I've been asked how to learn it so here goes....I used to use a practice room and could hear someone next door playing this and I always thought it was way beyond my ability. The truth is its not as difficult as you might think. Get the sheet music as there is no way I could have leart this just from ear. If your reading skills are poor you will have to improve them to make the learning..

  • Your da doggz.... X

  • slow down on the rolls of the scales because your fingers seem like they trip up and it sounds mushy. might as well just run your finger across the keyboard
