NIGHT TRAVELS by Ellen McQueen, Karen Wurl, Charlotte Fleck and the acting ensemble is an evening of short, original pieces united by the subject of women's dreams presented as part of the 9th Annual Essential Theatre Power Plays Festival.
"We live two lives. Waking. Sleeping. We're never in both, completely, at once. But there is a slender borderland and messages travel across."
NIGHT TRAVELS moves in and out of dreams through four connecting pieces, beginning with a comic monologue by a woman who begins to awaken watching other people's "dreams" in Movies. The next stop on the itinerary is Help, a fast and funny ten minute play where two people meet for the first time in a bizarre fashion and somehow seem to know each other already. Then we travel on into the collective unconscious in the highly visual and physical Postcards From the Night Country, a company created piece which begins with the passage quoted above.
The journey ends in Night Travel, in which three women travel through the actual and their own personal night in a play of poetic language and surprising imagery.
A most interesting posting, thank you! This piece sounds most appealing to me. I wish I had more information about it. Thanks again!
