Nonduality author and teacher Rupert Spira talks about love as the experience where there is not the least trace of otherness, separation or distance. Rupert says that love is the absence of the knowledge of another. The imaginary sense of self, the individual is in search for this. Whenever there is a sense of separation there is by definition a sense of seeking, a resistance to the Now and a sense of seeking. It is because we seek love and happiness in an object out in the world, in a state, person or object that we imagine it is not already present. It's as if this search compels presence to go into hiding. There is no such thing as the absence of happiness or love; only the apparent veiling of it. This clip is an extract of audio dialogue with Nic Higham entitled 'Love Beckons Always'. The full-length version is available from www.nondualitynetwork.com
