T- ten... nine... eight... seven... six... five... four... three... two... one... main engine ignition... and liftoff of the Atlas V rocket with LRO/LCROSS, America's first step of a lasting return to the moon.

Steve Agid/Launch Vehicle Telemetry Manager: :
And we have a pitch program in... RD-180 is operating well... pump speeds are stable... air compression's up good... tank pressures look good... RD-180 is continuing to operate well... booster pm... the response looks typical... all systems are stable at this point in flight.

  • Ah, I remember now - the "another guy" is Marc Lavigne.

  • That's not Steve Agid, it's Marty Malinowski. You can tell by the annoying way he blows into the mike.

    Steve and another guy (whose name I forget now) handle Delta launches, Atlas launches are commented by Rob Gagnon and Marty Malinowski.
