@xnf90x2 I have raped many 4.7 WJs in my 5.2 ZJ, even before the mods when it was all stock. After the headers, full 3" Magnaflow, K&N, 52mm TB, and MSD Ignition were installed the 4.7 did not stand a chance at all, and the ZJ is older but better than the WJ. The SOHC V8 Powertech is not as beast as the older pushrod V8 Magnums except for the 4.7 H.O. There are much less mods for the 4.7 WJ than the 5.2 / 5.9 ZJ motors, which are better when building for power.

You're right about the prices, here in the UK New Grand Cherokee cost as much in English £ Pounds as the Americans pay in U$ Dollars, and at $1.70 to a £ that puts the Jeep into the $50,000 to $60,000 dollar price bracket.

4.7 WJ's are more reliable than the 4.0 because the 4.7 is paired with the 545RFE bullet proof transmission that is paired with the hemi's. The 4.7 V8 will also last a long time its just that those 4.0's are very proven.

@skitspruce: The 5.2 makes 225hp/300ft-lbs. The 4.7 makes 235hp/295ft-lbs (at lower rpm's) so its actually a little more powerful.

If you want a vehicle that has top reliablity look elsewere, If you want a JGC anyway and don't care about performance and want the most reliable GC get the 4.0I6

Fuel econony? Well - in Poland one galon costs $16.5 :) So it;s not very econimical;) But if you care about your car it will be reliable. V8 is very strong and if it's well maintained it will not break down. But remember about one thing - V8 sound.

It's not weak, but in Poland you have to work hard to afford to buy this car. It's not as cheap as in the usa. So you don't push this car to max. Check my other video with GC (o-60mph). See how week the 4.7 is ;)
