  • Within the first 35 seconds, I completely agree. These jobs are always asking for experience before you get the job, but how the hell can someone have experience when you cannot get a job!? It definitely seems like a vicious trap/cycle.

  • @Dimadome12 It is a trap! In order to get the experience you can either try and get a job that you can get without the experience that gives you related experience for the job that your really want... or you can gain the experience through free work. Offer to work for the best person or company in your field for free. You'll gain the experience much more quickly and you'll also gain some amazing connections.

  • I'm not ever working for anyone for free.. are you effen kiding me?!?!?!

  • Number 2 doesn't work for commission type jobs. Unless you already know what to do, nobody would work with you because you'd slow them down. Slowing down on commission means less money. Example would be most auto mechanics. Even if you're working for free, you'd be costing the guy you're working with money at the end of the day.

  • I want to start a career where I make "how to" career videos and post them on youtube. Since you're clearly the best in the field at doing that, can I work for you for free?

  • Oh geez, at @1:18 you kind of freaked me out when you mentioned engineering first, since that's exactly what I'm going through right now. I'm going with the second method; I believe that getting an engineering job should be about becoming a competent engineer, not about earning money (there's plenty of other ways to do that). Thanks for the video!
