I've got a 2002 horizon 170 that I use almost exclusinely on the great lakes (Ontario and Huron - Georgian Bay)
Handles the waves awesome when it's trimmed right.
No issues heading out in big water (with a good bow cover on)
Enjoy!

is this boat worth buying for 14k. its an 07

I love my Horizon 180. Even with the 3L engine, it still flies. Handles wakes well, too. The StableVee hull and extra weight gives it great handling characteristics.

this must be a 2006 four winns 180 horizon with (3.0 V6 i/o?), and true they don't go too fast at all; maybe a baja, or even a checkmate with higher horsepower will be faster for ya

ive been on this boat and it handels well with the 3.0L engine and is quite fast considering the engine size. it slices through the chop really well

How does this boat handle in the water? I am looking at one and wondered how it does in rough water.
it is worth buying for smaller family if you intend on using it on small lakes (as in not great lake) it is what it is. a run about boat. jump in and hit 44 mph for short bursts or cruise at around 30 mph all day. with full load it takes a little longer to plan and hit cruise speed but it does do it.. easy to tow, load and unload with the four winns trailer made for that boat. drive on drive off trailer .Cheap to run 3.0L engine.
