(BlackPressRadio.com) - Just when you think reality TV has taken over every facet of American viewership comes news that one of the most real Black women in American history is finally getting her due.
Award-winning poet/activist/professor Sonia Sanchez spoke with BlackPressRadio about her new film "Shake Loose Memories" by Black Panther-turned filmmaker Jamal Joseph, which takes its audience on a "musical journey through the life, art and activism" of the Temple University Professor.
As co-founded the Black Arts Movement in the '60s, Sanchez's film weaves performances of her poems by T.C. Carson, Toshi Regan, Amiri Baraka, and Oscar Brown Jr. together with interviews with Sanchez. The final product is a work of art and a historical masterpiece that are beyond anything that words can describe.
