Stanley Roberts returns to Glide Memorial Church which offers a food giveaway to every Holiday Season, Four years ago there was evidence that some people were hoarding the free food. So how is it this year

It's stupid, but who is anyone to say they CANT sell it if they wanted to. They are clearly needy if they have to sell free food they recieve on the street.

@TVman1981 Sure, but who are we to automatically assume that that's what they are going to do with the drug money? This is America, and people aren't judged or punished just because someone with higher authority THINKS that's what they are going to do.

@epohnopulse I have a good idea, the next time there is a giv away I want you to visit and observe.... I'm not saying everyone is buying alcohol and drugs but one guy on the radio stated "I don't have a way to cook the food, so I sell it so I can get a beer."

They do this AT ALL of the food pantries. Ya have to wait forever in line because just to see these people selling their food!!!

Worst part is these folks will often CAMP out giving those of us who really need food a harder time getting a fair shot at fresh gives if produce are involved!!!

This is just sick! I live in Minnesota but we dont have these free food giveaways we have food shelves so if people that actually need food they can get it and the food isn't being resold or wasted.

This is why I stopped feeling bad about not donating any money or food to charities anymore. And also why I don't feel bad about not giving money to some beggar on the street. I'll continue to volunteer at a soup kitchen, so at least I can see where the food is going. These shady opportunists make me sick.

Instead of the church just handing it out, they should get a list if shut-ins from social services, and hand deliver the food to their doors. The ones in line, are obviously not shut-ins.

@epohnopulse Oh for corn sake! The purpose of the food giveaway is to giveaway food for people to EAT!!!! Not for free enterprise to take shape from a charity organization. People donate the food, time, energy and heart to prepare those bags of groceries and some jerks with an alternate agenda SPOILS it for others. If the so-called "Occupy" movement wants to handle food for cash, perhaps they should hold their own food drive. Oh wait, that's work and they clearly oppose doing that.

See someone selling the food, grab it and take it back to the organisation handing it out.
