thanks for the video gramps. None of us knew how to use paddle shifters.
-
do u have to use the clutch when in sports mode?
-
I wish the civics in the us came with paddle shifters
-
@DarkLightOX correct
-
So it's basically manual/standard driving but just not having to use the clutch to shift?
-
@Temptuous2112 Not all of them still use clutch pedal. Most paddle shifters actually releases the clutch and shifts for you. For a fan of American V8s, you should know this.

@Bestundesun I checked into this a bit, it seems the manual systems available still have a clutch pedal. The stock systems I have noticed use an servo to actuate the clutch also. Also I am not sure if there are any systems avaliable for your aplication although I haven't done much research since I am a fan of American V8's. Good luck!

@Bestundesun I sent you info on another video... it seems I spoke too soon. Yes there are aftermarket systems to change out a manual shift.
-
@Bestundesun I am not very familiar with the car, basically if the transmission is Auto the style of shifting is quite easy to change as long as you can find an aftermarket shifter that fits your requirements. If the transmission is manual it would have to come with a stock paddle shifter.
There might be a company that makes paddle shifters to convert manuals... If there is it is a daunting task, and the cost would be extreme to say the least. The paddles would have to actuate servos.

@Temptuous2112 Hi, Thanks a lot. So I was looking at options for Corolla. It has a 7-Speed CVT as well as a 6-speed Manual. So which one do I go for. The 7 Speed has a Paddle shifter but the 6-speed doesn't. But I was keen on the paddle shifters and I like the 6 speed more.
@mextijuas i believe this is in the Philippines

In F1 they don't have to take their hands off of the steering wheel, so it is easy for them to use paddles. In everyday cars you have to make full turns of the st.wheel and you cannot use the paddles. One hand on the wheel and the other on the stick it's better.
