It was fun figuring out how to take a video of a dishwasher washing with the door open. Luckily, the spray is so weak that the floor hardly got wet.
Sears says this brand new dishwasher has nothing wrong with it even tho' it doesn't clean, doesn't fill enough, and barely swishes. See how the upper rack hardly moves and hardly squirts. I had to move it by hand to get it back around to the video. If this is how a Sears DW is supposed to work, there's no point in buying one.
They won't take it back unless I pay a restocking fee. Their repair people came 3 times and pronounced it working. I scheduled a 4th appointment, but Sears canceled at the last minute. They said they'd cancel again if I made another appointment.

  • Interesting conclusion to reach when there's NO WEIGHT on the upper rack in the video. The same system works fine in my current dishwasher. Dishwasher racks have a lot of flex. If YOU look at the manifold you'll see that it can stay in place even if you wiggle the upper rack. There's no seal yet there's no water gushing from the contact area. Pressure from the closed door is good enough to maintain water flow to the spray. Conclusion: low spray pressure was due to a Bad Sears Dishwasher.

  • there is not enough water comming in. If you are on well system then you screen at vater valve plugged up or you just need to check your water lines. there is not enough water. Dishwasher is fine. I dont care about sears but you should start listening to people and stop crying.

  • Bad analysis (and attitude). No well. Old DW worked fine and was replaced because it looked old. DW bought after Bad Sears DW works fine. Why listen to a so-called repair guy who can't figure out how to test if the washer arm is rotating properly? I set up a good test in 5 minutes. Old Sears repairs guys knew their stuff. Currently, contract workers have no incentive to solve problems because they get paid each time the make a house call. After 3 tries they label the customer a problem.

  • @alaskaproduction it would take longer to fill, but once it's full it doesn't matter how much water you have coming in.

  • Pure genius. I love this VIDEO!!!

  • Although I don't have this style dishwasher, I have a two drawer. We have had it since 11/07 and have had nothing but trouble with it and finally after six service calls in two years to reinstall twice, replace pumps twice and just simply have the standing water sucked out and cleaned and two years of a lot of complaining Sears finally agreed that they sold us a "pig in a poke" and are ordering us a new regular dishwasher at no cost.

  • actually i can tell you exactly what is wrong.... i work for whirlpool and this is a lowline upper. the problem is you are putting to much weight on the rack. if you look there is a probe that goes into the manifold in the tub when you push the rack in... by pushing the seal out of place in the manifold the spray arm will not get the correct amount of pressure. this is not the wholesales, retails, or resales falt. you are resposible for this. however you can order a new part from its makers

  • @DebDDigger Dishwasher repair people assume that the users are EXTREMELY stupid, even when the products are obviously faulty. I had a serious problem about 15 years ago with a new Maytag dishwasher that left the dishes on the top rack dirtier than they were going in, and the repairman asked me questions like "are you putting detergent in?" and "are you placing the glasses so that they face up?" (what???).

  • I'm sorry for your frustration. If you google "sears sucks", you will get dozens of websites featuring countless horror stories of customer disservice, lousy product quality, questionable business ethics, boorish employee behavoir, and promises to never ever ever buy from sears again ever EVER! Now google "sears is great" or "I like sears" or anything positive like that and you get NOTHING! Good luck with the schmucks.

  • Im not sure how to break this to you but......thats a whirlpool dishwasher Kenmore is nothing more than a logo just like Craftsman. So you could say I bought a Kenmore dishwasher from sears made by Whirlpool.

  • The only way to get help from Sears is to call their executive offices at 1-800-995-2139 They keep this number hidden for their most escalated calls.

  • @kellynm0824 What kind of excuse is that. So Sears/Kenmore has no quality control and doesn't care anything about the level of quality that their consigned partners are manufacturing for them? They are just as much as fault as the people who make their products, which you are correct , can be any number of appliance manufacturing giants (Whirlpool, LG, GE, Kelvinator, Samsung, etc..) They need to get their quality control act together. That's what they need to do.
