Traditional folk song played on a 5 string banjo in d tuning. The little guy next to me is Jack The Nerd, he also plays banjo but he's sometimes shy. *TABS AVAILABLE* just give me a buzz, tabs in jpeg format.

  • brilliant mate, greetings from scotland!i am thinking of learning to play banjo,i already play guitar,is it a difficult instrument to learn,or is it basically the same as guitar?

  • @Bdiddly1 class decision to learn the banjo. I played banjo as first instrument, all of 25 years ago now, then picked up guitar many years later. Because of that I cant strum at all, but the banjo is able to be played many styles, I usually play scruggs style, you pick with patterns and learn melody notes on top, lots of free lessons on YT, if you play guitar already you are way ahead and will get started quickly. Banjo is the best instrument, you will love it.

  • Very nice! :)

  • @n3m0otter , thank you. I still enjoy playing this tune.

  • Well played mate!! To @ bdiddly , I'm a guitarist in Glasgow and have been playing scruggs style banjo for two years. I'm lovin it!! The neck is quite similar to guitar but the fingerpicked rolls take a bit of practise. It's well worth it though! Good luck. Let me know if you need any advice. Cheers. Garry
