  • whats the name again of theses balls used here in this video? Please send me a message if possible, thnx!!!

  • @clareheneghan

Very true, this guy can't shake a hand. Although with small hands, such as those of a kid's, or very large hands, some adjustment may be required, but not as dramatic as that.

  • @monkymaniac629 If you swing properly in squash, if you hold it like he says, it will hit the ball flat at impact, forehand and backhand. If you hold as you suggest, it will never hit the ball flat with the backhand unless you twist awkwardly

  • @evilknievel20 I have the exact same issue although I've been a badminton player.

  • Sadly i have developed the bad grip you speak of. I do hold it like im shaking hands but i dont turn my hand a little to the side. my knuckle is not aligned with the racket.

i tried fixing it but it feels very uncomfortable now and my hand automatically comes back to the position im used to. should i try to fix this or just carry on?

  • you are like jobe from arrested development!

  • @monkymaniac629 do you even play squash??

  • Hey, squash is like any other sport: There are MANY different styles of grips and styles, and, while some may be easier than others, any and all can be practiced to be effective. This guy uses this grip in squash because he feels touch is more important than power, and that is very true for squash. With this grip, you will have more height on the ball and less power, since it isn't flat at impact. If you want more power, just try shaking hands with it and not turning it.

  • hey clarehenghan, how about not flaunting about ur national coach and tell us what the "proper" grip is?!

  • I find the racket feels weird when i shake hands with it but when i turn it my game is fluid...guess it maybe a question of what you are comfortable with...
